Sandpoint Sasquatch 12U

FULL CAPTION: The Sandpoint Sasquatch 12U travel baseball team won the RSP Ballpark Bonanza held April 27-28 in Pasco. After losing their first game of the season, 8-7, the boys rallied to win three in a row, defeating Narrows 12U (8-3), 12U Maniacs (19-3), and RSP Baseball 12U (11-2). The team has won all three tournaments they have entered this season and now hold a 16-1 record. Cash Crateau had eight hits (six singles, one double, and one home run), five RBIs and pitched four no-run innings, striking out 10, in the team's final game. Sandpoint Albion SC 2013/2014 Boys

FULL CAPTION: Sandpoint Albion SC's 2013/2014 boys are atop the Washington Premier League after defeating longtime rival Washington East Premier Surf 2013, 4-3, this past weekend. The boys now hold a 6-1 overall record. "We have a strong three-year rivalry with Surf Premier," Albion coach Eric Donenfeld said. "Every game is intense and close. The boys earned every bit of this thriller." Felix Carlson scored a goal during the fourth and 27th minutes to put Sandpoint Albion up 2-1 at halftime. Chris Medrano, fighting through an injury, found the upper left corner during the 45th minute to give Albion a 3-2 lead. During the 56th minute, with the game tied 3-3, Garrison Markwardt sent a cross to Jacob Moren, who caught the underside of the crossbar for the winning goal. Donenfeld said it was the team's best game of the season. Pictured, are both teams, memorializing three years of friendship. The two teams routinely collaborate and share players for events and friendlies.
